| Musician Teresa Doyle leads Sound Yoga sessions on Tuesdays at noon at The Guild and Thursdays at 5:15 at the wHy (Prince and Euston streets) in Charlottetown, Canada. The drop-in classes cost Cdn $12 per session.
Sound Yoga is a combination of singing, breathing, posture, meditation, relaxation and light movement to bring peace to the mind, reduce stress and allow one to experience the joy of singing with others. No singing experience is necessary.
Easy physical exercises help to anchor the voice. The repertoire is from around the globe: Latin rounds, Sanskrit chants, Irish Gaelic – songs to change the brainwave state from beta-frenzy to alpha-clarity and relaxation.
Teresa (www.teresadoyle.com) has taught voice for more than 25 years and has nine albums on her own label, Bedlam Records. She’s given voice workshops in many places around the world.
