Valdy, Wardrop Tour Bridges Pacific Waters

On July 14, Canadian folk-music legend Valdy returns to Harmony House on Prince Edward Island (Canada) for a third straight year. This time he appears with his friend and touring partner Graham Wardrop of New Zealand.

Born Valdemar Horsdalin in Ottawa, Valdy has played pop and folk music for more than 40 years. He's a singer, guitarist and songwriter conscious of the small, telling moments in life. Remembered the most for “Play Me a Rock and Roll Song”, his bitter-sweet memory of being an amiable storyteller facing a rambunctious audience circa 1968, he has sold nearly half a million copies of his 13 albums, won two Juno Awards and had four “gold” albums. He lives on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, with his wife Kathleen.

Wardrop has been called New Zealand's finest finger-style guitarist. After 30 years, he's often called upon for concerts, TV shows, studio sessions or workshops. He has performed solo and with leading musicians, dazzling audiences at festivals, concerts and corporate functions. Despite a busy schedule, he also handcrafts his instruments.

In 2006, Graham and Valdy did a fantastic concert tour across New Zealand. Their musical compatibility is a rare and beautiful thing that bridges the Pacific and attracts standing ovations.
