| Play a part in an important demonstration in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park at 3 p.m. on October 7. The aim is simple. In co-operation with the Guinness Book of Records, we’re trying to set a world record with an umbrella-display for democracy.
The target of 10,000 participants is highly ambitious, but we can’t fail to show the world that at least 10,000 Hong Kong people are willing to play a part. The umbrellas will form a picture setting 2012 as the target to achieve universal suffrage.
Participants need to have arrived in Victoria Park at 1 p.m. As a bonus, everyone gets an umbrella and a certificate. There’s online registration at www.2012us.com.
Yes, it’s a gimmick, but a mighty one in a cause that concerns us all.
