Two of the Best Reach the East

Catch Chloe Albert and Emma Cook, two of the best folksinger-songwriters, in an intimate setting on July 10 (7:30 p.m.) at the Dunk, 3864 Dixon Road, Breadalbane, P.E.I., Canada. It’s a lot cheaper than the Cavendish Music Festival. Better music too!

Albert, from Edmonton, gets acquainted with Canada one song at a time. She’ll weave from folk to country to blues with an infectious, good-time spirit and present music from her Dedicated State CD and newer songs. In 2008, she won a Canadian Folk Music Association Award as the best emerging artist.

Cook, from Toronto, can be a jazzy hipster a la Rickie Lee Jones, a folkie like Joni Mitchell or soulful like Dusty Springfield. She entertains with a sultry voice, witty lyrics and artisan acoustics from her debut album, Manifesto, and her more recent one, Hit and Run.
