Letter to the Editor
Tom Caters to Cats
Indeed, we live in a small world. My wife, Claudia, teaches English in Hong Kong, and I went to spend Christmas with her. Our daughter, Suzi, who teaches English in Kobe, Japan, joined us for Christmas in Hong Kong too.

Claudia shopped at the Annie H store on Lamma Island, and I happened to browse around the store and saw a stack of books for sale. Without knowing why, I picked up Dog-Gone Cat Case, went instinctively to the back cover and read “About the Author”. All of a sudden, the words “Prince Edward Island” jumped out at me.

Our family members, especially Claudia and Suzi, are avid cat lovers. My greatest responsibility back home in Charlottetown is caring for our two female cats, PusPus and Azzie, who each graduated to our house from the PEI Humane Society in 2004.

To the cats, I stood a distant third in the pecking order behind Suzi and Claudia. But with my competition removed, we get along splendidly.
