Teresa Leads Sound Sessions
I’ve returned from a wonderful trip to Ireland and am starting my fall classes at The Guild in Charlottetown, Canada. I taught voice workshops in Dublin and Kerry. In Dublin, I co-presented with a friend from Victoria and learned lots of cool stuff from her.
This fall, I have three group sessions and a few private classes. The Tuesday and Saturday classes are open, so come when you can. I tried this in the spring, and to my surprise, it worked quite well.
On Saturdays, the class is 90 minutes and open to teens and adults. The focus leans toward vocal technique. On Tuesdays at noon, I want to give a class that explores “Sound Yoga”, singing as a tool to reduce stress. New research shows that certain music drops the brain to a more relaxed state, boosts the immune system and improves health. The class is open to everyone. No singing experience is required.
The third class is my children’s chorus for ages 5-11. I teach folk songs in English, Gaelic and French. The Boys and Girls of Bedlamb have a 50-song repertoire.
