Children’s author Sarah Brennan will launch a funny, fabulous new Chinese-calendar story, The Tale of Temujin, at 1:30 p.m. on February 6 at the Bookazine store in the Prince’s Building in Central, Hong Kong. It’s written for the Year of the Tiger.
Much like Genghis Khan, Temujin the Tiger is a Terror of the East. He has left a trail of devastation and fine-dining across the Mongolian plains and into China right to the Grand Imperial Palace, where Princess Precious, a specialist in tantrums, lives. Learn what happens when two irresistible forces collide.
Temujin becomes the fourth zodiac beast in the book series. Earlier, Brennan wrote The Tale of Chester Choi, The Tale of Run Run Rat, and The Tale of Oswald Ox, all Hong Kong bestsellers, especially in schools where Brennan does reading tours. Now the books, illustrated by cartoonist Harry Harrison, also are distributed in Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai.
“It’s hugely important for Chinese children learning English, and for English-speaking children living in China, to find books in English that relate to Chinese culture and traditions,” Brennan said. “But it’s also important that they have a good time when reading."
