TV-Screen Personality Torrens Hosts Music Gala

Music Prince Edward Island is ecstatic to announce that Jonathan Torrens will host the 2012 Music PEI Awards Gala presented by Ocean 11 and K-Rock 105.5 on January 21 at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, Canada. Again, the venue will come alive in a celebration of Island music.

Torrens, a native Islander, is an award-winning performer, writer, director and producer. He's best known for his Gemini-nominated role as J-Roc in the Trailer Park Boys movies and TV series, appearances on Royal Canadian Air Farce and Degrassi: The Next Generation, plus his hosting duties on Street Cents, Jonovision and Wipeout Canada.

“As a native of Sherwood, I'll take any chance to get back to P.E.I.,” he said. “I mean, anyone who's been to the Island knows that late January is exactly when you want to be there!”

Music PEI executive director Rob Oakie warned, “Our presenting partners, Ocean 100 & K-Rock 105.5, are big reasons this event regularly sells out. With Jonathan Torrens plus the Island's best music, all I can say is to get your tickets early.”
