Sudden Death Creates a Cat-House Crisis

We need help to foster and save the lives of a dozen perfectly healthy cats. On June 23, a woman, who had helped the Organization for the Rescue of Animals (ORA) for years by fostering animals in emergency situations, suddenly died, leaving behind 28 cats. All are spayed and neutered and have been checked periodically by veterinarians. They are healthy. The deceased has no close relatives willing to help with the cats.

We want to save the cats' lives. Fifteen already are in foster homes, but 12 remain to re-home with just a week left to remove them. Then a lawyer will take our keys back and have the remaining cats euthanized.

Together, we can save these pets. Their ages range from 3-10 years. They include three Russian blues, two tabby greys, one sweet grey and white young female, a diluted tortie, a small back cat and some other tabbies and black ones. They're very affectionate, having received constant tender care from their previous Mom.
