The Heartbroken of Toronto return to Atlantic Canada and bring up-and-comer Carleton Stone and his band. We have a double-bill show set for November 16 at 8 p.m.
The Heartbroken have Damnhait Doyle (guitar, vocals), Stuart Cameron (lead guitar, vocals), Blake Manning (drums, vocals) and Peter Fusco (bass, vocals). These long-time friends have their best times sitting at kitchen tables and playing songs. That's how it began. They're down-to-earth and entertaining. A debut album, Tonight Tonight, eases bleeding hearts and souls. It's a visceral reaction to the blows of life and love.
A charismatic performer and soulful songwriter, Stone honed his reputation with sweat-drenched live shows at indie clubs. His 2009 independent album earned an East Coast Music Award nomination and two Music Nova Scotia nominations. Now he focuses on a self-titled album that sparkles with contemporary smart-pop energy, clever hooks and infectious exuberance.
