'Spiritual' Photographer Shoots, Shows For Charity

“Time Shoot” is a photography exhibition by Kurt Sauter opening with a reception from 7-9 p.m. on July 28 at the Culture Club Gallery in Hong Kong's Central District.

Sauter is a well-known photographer and founder of a charity, Privilege Sharing, in India. Profits from his art work at the exhibition go to the charity. For four years, Sauter worked as a photo-journalist in the former Yugoslavia. Elsewhere, he met Mother Teresa and a grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier in life, he made money with his own business. In 1996, he became less materialistic and more spiritual. Privilege Sharing began in Calcutta with two mobile kitchens to serve the poor on the streets. Now it has developed into a whole philosophy and support system.

This photographer lives a fulfilling life without the likes of a TV or car. His philosophy is that deep love, compassion and humbleness to all creatures bring peace and happiness. “To be privileged is one thing, but to be happy is everything,” he says.
