| On October 3, Bookazine will host a charity story-reading by John Walker, the author of Ura’s World, a children’s book that supports Asian environmental charities. The book, beautifully illustrated by Hee-Jung Sohn, aims to gently educate youngsters about the importance of native flora and fauna. Money raised at the event in our store in the Prince’s Building, Central, Hong Kong, goes to the Animals Asia Foundation.
A keen conservationist, Walker chairs the Macquarie Group in South Korea. Despite living there, he and his wife own a home in Hong Kong’s New Territories, where they donate part of their property as a refuge for abused or stray dogs and cats.
Ura’s World follows a mischievous, young moon bear and his forest friends in their Korean mountain environment far from the city. When encountering the human world, they learn how life holds a delicate balance of action and consequence.
