With this year marking the University of Hong Kong's 100th anniversary, Hongkong Post has issued a set of commemorative stamps for the historic occasion. The stamps and associated philatelic products were released at post offices on September 15. HKU vice-chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui and acting postmaster general Eddie Mak officiated at a stamp-issue ceremony at HKU.
Forty primary-school students also attended. They wrote postcard messages to their families and friends and posted them.
The commemorative stamps show HKU's Main Building, a revered heritage location, and some historical items with special places in the history of this celebrated academic institution.
