The city of Charlottetown, Music Prince Edward Island and the CBC announce “Just Biding My Time: A Tribute to Gene MacLellan", a televised concert and a closing event for the Cultural Capital of Canada designation for Charlottetown.

“The city is pleased to support this tribute, years in the making, to such a talented Island icon,” said Mayor Clifford Lee.

The concert, celebrating the life and music of folk singer Gene MacLellan, takes place on January 14 at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown. It will feature MacLellan's daughter, singer-songwriter Catherine MacLellan, plus acclaimed performers Lennie Gallant, Ron Hynes, Haunted Hearts (a folk-rock band), Meaghan Blanchard and more.

“MacLellan's music continues to inspire many talented musicians and is enjoyed worldwide,” said provincial tourism minister Robert Henderson.
