| Moon Gallery proudly presents The Happy Pose, a solo exhibition by Song Kexi. We wish to give Hong Kong art aficionados a profound understanding of this extraordinary artist. The exhibition runs until November 11.
Without hysterical complaint, self-examination of social problems or strong expression of emotions, Song’s works depict innocent creatures happily manipulated by commercial or Communist symbols. Unlike many Chinese contemporary artists, he trained in the People’s Liberation Army, yet his work is detached from a soldier’s life.
In the new age of consumerism and materialism, when commercial icons manipulate our ways of life, Song’s works represent a post-capitalism approach. His paintings have achieved success at Sotheby’s and appeared in museums and galleries.
