Many people call Scent of a Woman the most powerful movie starring Al Pacino, even beyond the Godfathers. Although he’s not a perfect tango dancer, a tango scene forms one of the best scenes. On February 2, the Culture Club Gallery in Hong Kong’s Central District will screen this memorable award-winning movie from 1992.
It tells the story of a preparatory-school student working as an assistant to an irascible, blind, medically retired Army officer. It also stars Chris O'Donnell, James Rebhorn, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Gabrielle Anwar. Actually, it’s a remake of Profumo di donna, a 1974 movie by Dino Risi.
