The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) have announced that Richie Hall is returning to the team's coaching staff as defensive co-ordinator. Hall was part of the Riders coaching staff for 15 previous seasons, eight as defensive co-ordinator, before leaving in 2009 to become head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos.
Earlier, Hall played nine years in the CFL, including four with Saskatchewan (1988-91). He was a key member of the 1989 Grey Cup-winning team. Hall, a four-time Western Division all-star, played in 153 regular-season games. In 1990, Saskatchewan fans voted him the team's most-popular player.
