The Women in Publishing Society Hong Kong invites you to learn more about self-publishing with entrepreneur and author Christopher Dillon. He will discuss the lessons he learned when writing, producing and publishing two books and an audiobook. Also he'll talk about using social media, free-and-open-source software, offshoring and ebooks, plus how to incorporate self-publishing into marketing mixes.
In 2002, Dillon bought and renovated a floor in an office building in Hong Kong's Central District. Later he purchased and refurbished a luxury apartment and transformed a derelict steam laundry into a multimedia studio. This experience inspired his first book, Landed: The Expatriate's Guide to Buying and Renovating Property in Hong Kong, and a companion audiobook. In 2010, he self-published a second book, Landed: The Guide to Buying Property in Japan. Now he's writing a book about real estate in China.
This WIPS event is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on November 8 in the Hughes Room at Hong Kong's Foreign Correspondents' Club. Admission costs HK$100 for WIPS members and HK$200 for non-members.
