Players of the Past Appear Once More

The New York Yankees baseball team expects more than 50 former players at the 65th annual Old-Timers' Day on June 26 at Yankee Stadium. Ceremonies begin at 11:30 a.m. with the traditional Old-Timers' game to follow. Then the Yankees will host the Colorado Rockies at 2:05 p.m.

The Old-Timers are led by members of past Yankees' World Series-winning clubs, including Hall-of-Famers Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford, David Cone, Bill “Moose” Skowron and Bernie Williams. For Williams, it will be his first Old-Timers' Day appearance.

Also attending will be Hall of Famers Rich Gossage and Reggie Jackson, along with former Yankees managers Lou Piniella and Joe Torre.  Piniella will make his Old-Timers' Day debut and return to Yankee Stadium wearing a Yankees uniform for the first time since 1988.

Joining the Hall-of-Famers and former Yankees on the baselines will be the widows of five legendary Yankees -- Arlene Howard, widow of Elston Howard; Helen Hunter, widow of Jim Catfish Hunter; Jill Martin, widow of Billy Martin; Diana Munson, widow of Thurman Munson and Kay Murcer, widow of Bobby Murcer.
