Performance Poet Prepares to Strut

On November 17, New Zealand performance poet Blair Reeve will give an insight into the whys and wherefores of live-performance poetry by getting up to strut his verbal stuff for the next gathering organized by the Women in Publishing Society Hong Kong. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Hughes Room of the Foreign Correspondents Club in Central District.

Reeve has recited performance poetry for 15 years. From humble origins in Dunedin to the big smokes of Auckland and Tokyo, Blair has reached Hong Kong where he often recites at the Fringe Club's Poetry Outloud meetings. He also has recited in New York, London and Dublin.

Despite wowing crowds with his unique take on rhythm and meaning, Blair is a shy, humble poet, happy to share his work and inspirations with people on the streets. If you have written poetry yourself, please bring it along.
