Panda-monium may erupt in Edinburgh, Scotland, when Pin Yin Panda, the heroine of my new companion story to the Chinese calendar stories, The Tale of Pin Yin Panda, visits Edinburgh Zoo for an official launch of her story at Chinese New Year on January 21-22. If you're in Scotland, come along for some fabulous Chinese New Year events in honor of the real Edinburgh Zoo pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang, including my first reading of Pin Yin's story.
Not to be outdone, another character, Chester Choi, stages a fiery comeback for the Year of the Dragon when we visit six British schools together from January 16-27.
Adding to the excitement, Pin Yin Panda and I will meet Chris Patten (former Hong Kong governor) on January 18 to give him copies of Pin Yin's book for his eight grandchildren.
If you live in Hong Kong, The Tale of Pin Yin Panda will launch there at the Bookazine store in the Prince's Building, Central District, on February 4 (2-4 p.m.).
