| Almost everyone enjoys rolling green hills, weekend junk trips, gambling grannies and pooches on parade. Then there’s walled village houses, old film studios, Sung Dynasty temples, rice-farmers’ implements and fish markets. Don’t forget the folk museums and wakeboarding clubs, a Chinese herbalist’s shop, the tools of ancient trades, sampan ladies, fleets of ferries and ships of all shapes.
These are some elements in a new book, Sketches of Sai Kung, by the bestselling artist-author, Lorette Roberts. She has painted Hong Kong’s scenic Sai Kung area in a new light.
Readers may wish to attend Lorette’s book launch from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on October 17 at the Bookazine store, Prince’s Building, Central, Hong Kong.
