Well-known and loved Canadian actor Rod Beattie has settled into Victoria by the Sea (in P.E.I., Canada) like an old shoe. No doubt he, or Walt Wingfield (his alter ego and star of the hit stage-plays and TV series Wingfield Farm), would have a quick come-back to that comment. They're seldom at a loss for words.

A stage-play, Letter From Wingfield Farm, appears at the Victoria Playhouse until August 29. Rod portrays Walt, an ex-stockbroker who retreats to a farm in a rural area like that near the playhouse. Through Rod's endearing impersonations and humorous writing, we meet many characters.
