Objects Mark a Path Through History's Ages

Recently, BBC Radio 4 had a series of shows, A History of the World in 100 Objects, featuring a solar-powered lamp (on display at the British Museum) as the object to represent 2010.

Now you can continue a journey through history with a long-awaited book, by Neil MacGregor, pertaining to the series. It's a world history told through 100 things we have admired and preserved, or used, broken and thrown away.

A History of the World in 100 Objects takes you on a journey back in time and across the globe to see how humans have shaped the world and were shaped by it in the past two million years. For more information: www.penguin.co.uk/100objects.
