Nothing Merciful in Killing Healthy Pets
Your feature story headlined Too Many Pets, Not Enough Homes refers to the “euthanasia” of hundreds of cats and dogs at a Canadian animal shelter.

Can it be called euthanasia? Is being homeless defined as an incurable disease? Is it mercy-killing to kill healthy animals? A more accurate description would be “convenience killing”.

Otherwise, you’ve published a great article on a depressing subject.

Animal-shelter dogs and cats lack homes, but
that's no disease, so why mention 'euthanasia'?
