| Recently, it was an incredible sight in London’s Trafalgar Square as a Russian winter festival took place. More money is spent by Russians visiting London on holiday these days than by the Japanese. The language in McDonald’s across the street from the square was no longer the familiar English. Instead, it was Russian.
It seems just yesterday that as a young US Marine, I was taught that the Russians formed the biggest threat to democracy. Those of us old enough to remember the Cold War see just how rapidly world events can change.
