Masters Put Pottery Creations on Display
Shiwan ceramic art ranks as a special folk art in China’s Lingnan area. It started with large domestic utensils, developed into decorative vessels and then into ceramic sculptures of humans, animals and birds.

Tsui Shek Studio is a marked Shiwan pottery family. Liang Fu, of the first generation, established the studio which manufactures and merchandises. His descendants mix the techniques of previous Shiwan masters with their own advancements in sculpture technique and use of glaze.

A fourth generation has mastered the art as seen in a special exhibition, Pottery Sculpture by Masters of the Tsui Shek Studio. The exhibition continues until September 4 at the Jao Tung-I Petite Ecole, University of Hong Kong.
