| A Hong Kong exhibition of paintings, The Cloud and Mist Weaver, highlights the ink-painting achievements of Koo Mei. More than 50 of her works appear at the University Museum and Art Gallery until September 13. They show how she pursued a more realistic landscape representation rendered in a lyrical atmosphere through her use of brushwork and ink wash.
In the 1960s, Koo Mei was a Shaw Brothers movie star and singer. Widely known as the “little lark”, she sang unforgettable songs like “Endless Love” and “The Girls of Ali Mountain”.
