Letter to the Editor
Lesser-Known Obama Comes to Hong Kong

Mark Obama Ndesandjo, the less-political half-brother of United States president Barack Obama, has written a novel, Nairobi to Shenzhen, described as a “semi-autobiographical meditation on multiculturalism and love”.

Nairobi to Shenzhen tells the touching tale of a man confronting his emotions as he starts a new life in China, which leads him to look back on his multi-racial background and the relationship with his father. The author lives in Shenzhen, southern China.

In Hong Kong, Dymocks booksellers invite readers to attend exclusive book-signings with this author on December 19. He will attend events at Dymocks stores in Happy Valley (11 a.m.), Harbor Centre, Wanchai (noon), Prince’s Building, Central (1:30 p.m.), IFC Mall, Central (2:45 p.m.) and Tsim Sha Tsui (4:30 p.m.). Tickets are available at the host stores and cost HK$190 (including a copy of the book).
