Hear Truth Told About Christmas

Entertainers join forces to bring the spirit of Christmas closer. Storyteller / humorist Nils Ling and musician Gordon Belsher have toured with a show of laughter and song called “The Truth About Christmas”. On December 19, Harmony House Theatre in Hunter River hosts the last show.

It blends stories and music with a unique family flavor. Joining the two “old guys” will be Ling’s daughter, Allison Giggey, and Belsher’s son-in-law, multi-instrumentalist Todd MacLean.

“It’s Christmas, not a time to be greedy,” Ling said, “so we decided the ticket prices should be within reach for most families and that a local church or organization should receive a fair share of the ticket sales.” Admission costs Cdn $14 for adults and $12 for students or seniors.

“For us, what’s most important is the show itself,” said Belsher. “We enjoy the Christmas season and wanted to do a show that contributes to the celebration. We’ve found some songs people will know and love, others that are new and beautiful, and Nils tells wonderful Christmas stories that have audiences laughing one moment and sniffling the next.”
