French Artist Captures Emotions on Canvas

An exhibition of acrylic paintings, titled “De Source et de Vies” (Sources and Lives) by Gisele Tchitchiama, has opened at Hong Kong's Culture Club Gallery and continues until November 12.

“My workplace, Hong Kong, is a source of emotions, flow and life,” the artist said. Questions arise of reaching the source, the passage and the presence of lives.

“Through material and color, I try to capture on canvas the emotion of a moment, an encounter, a word or the intangible.... This is a journey with colors as wings, sometimes light, sometimes heavy, but always necessary. Memories of precious meetings fill me with a desire to be off on a new journey, again and again.”

Tchitchiama is a French artist living in Hong Kong. This is her first painting exhibition here. Also an illustrator, she has published art books.
