A huge crowd attended the recent funeral for Edgar Millar of the Prince County Fiddlers. My family and I arrived at the Kensington United Church half an hour early and stood in the porch, unsure if we’d get a seat. We finally did, but some people were left standing in the porch. Others in an attached hall could listen because the hall was wired with speakers.
Two fiddlers and a piano player performed a piece called “The Resting Chair”. It was very beautiful.
Edgar died in the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI, on February 20. He was 78, born in Bideford, loving husband of Betty (Rogerson) Millar, father of Karen (Rod) MacDonald and Heather Millar. He had four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.
