Fishery Facts Unfair
I’ve sent an email to Hong Kong’s trade minister about the fishing crisis. Wherever you are in the world, you can send a message to your trade minister who participates in the World Trade Organization meetings.

Soon the WTO will advance new rules to govern global fishing. If enough of us raise our voices, we can help to end an unfair and unsustainable fishing system in which rich countries subsidize corporate fleets to overfish the oceans. It’s unfair to fishermen in poor countries. If it persists, global fish populations will collapse. Already, 90 per cent of the big fish, like tuna and marlin, have disappeared.

Help to defend our oceans and our future. For more information: www.avaaz.org/en/make_fishing_fair.
