Fangs Bared For Dracula Screening

A winner of three Academy Awards, Bram Stoker's Dracula is a 1992 American horror-romance thriller co-written, produced and directed by Francis Ford Coppola based on a famous novel. It stars Gary Oldman as Count Dracula, Winona Ryder as Mina Harker, Anthony Hopkins as Professor Abraham Van Helsing, Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker and Sadie Frost as Lucy Westenra.

As for the plot, in 1462, Dracula returns from a victory against the Turks to find that his wife Elisabeta has committed suicide after hearing false reports of his death. Enraged at the notion of his wife eternally damned as a suicide, he desecrates his chapel and renounces God, vowing to rise from the grave to avenge Elisabeta with all the powers of darkness.

In 1897, law clerk Jonathan Harker assists Count Dracula, taking over from a colleague who went insane. Jonathan travels to Transylvania to arrange formalities of Dracula's real-estate acquisition in London. He meets Dracula, a wrinkled old man inhabiting a bizarre castle. When signing the papers, the Count discovers a picture of Harker's fiancée, Mina, and believes she is a reincarnation of Elisabeta.

The Culture Club Gallery in Hong Kong will screen this memorable movie at 8 p.m. on September 21.
