The Women in Publishing Society (WIPS) Hong Kong invites you to a presentation, titled Redefining Success, The Growth of a Niche Publication by Erica Lyons, founder of the Asian Jewish Life Journal, on September 27.
Lyons will talk about exploring her passion and how she found a niche in a nearly saturated market sector. She publishes and edits Asian Jewish Life magazine, having launched the international quarterly publication in early 2010 to celebrate the diversity of Jewish life in Asia. It blends in the editor's passion for literature, art, history, culture, Judaic studies, film, poetry and travel. The magazine has a large international readership and unique distribution chain.
After moving to Hong Kong in 2002, Lyons worked for regional publications and wrote freelance, including for companies. A mother of three, she aims to teach her children the importance of pride in heritage.
The WIPS event is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hughes Room at Hong Kong's Foreign Correspondents Club. Admission costs HK$100 for WIPS members and HK$200 for non-members.
