Hearing loss can happen before you know it. Imagine what it would be like in a world without sound.
Musicians practice and perform in a variety of settings and are exposed to high levels of sound, sometimes for long periods. To a musician, hearing is the most important asset and needs protection.
For example, hearing protection can replicate the natural responses of ear canals so that sounds heard with special earplugs have the same qualities as the original, just quieter. Musicians require varied amounts of protection so plugs are available for different levels of sound reduction.
To provide more information, Music Prince Edward Island and Innovative HealthwoRx will host a Musicians Custom Ear Protection Clinic on Wednesday, July 4, at the Music PEI office in the Confederation Center of the Arts in Charlottetown, Canada.
