Letter to the Editor
Do Modern Children Cause Bad Dreams?

Born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, Kong Hai (Kong kids) reflect the results of a material culture at home and the information explosion globally.

At 7:15 p.m. on February 4, Wong Ming Lok, the creator of a Chinese-language book, Kong Kids: A Nightmare for Parents and Teachers, speaks at Hong Kong University’s main library. Moderated by sociology professor Lui Tai Lok, the discussion will be in Cantonese with simultaneous interpretation to English.

Born in Hong Kong, Wong is a freelance educator. In recent years, she offered training for students in more than 20 schools or institutions. She focused on debating, current-affairs analysis, English drama and more.

From 2001 until 2005, Wong worked as an administrative officer for the Hong Kong government. She managed politician Alan Leong’s campaign for chief executive and now works as a newspaper columnist, host at Radio Television Hong Kong and part-time university lecturer.
