| The other day I asked a friend if he thought that former Indonesian dictator Suharto was roasting in hell now, as suggested in your editorial, Cheers, Not Tears, Heat’s on Suharto. His comment was to the effect that he didn’t believe in hell.
Of course, I was being facetious. I gladly read your editorial and saw that your opinion of Suharto and certain other individuals resonates with mine. I’d say there’s a pile of ill-gotten gains that need to be restored to the people of Indonesia.
Here in Thailand, the political situation looks like a rerun of Thaksin Shinawatra. Although unfortunate, it’s what the Thai voters chose. For better or worse, we must live with it.
