Argentine tango, the world's most intimate, sophisticated and passionate partnered-dance, has gained popularity in Hong Kong. Edith Ho, a long-time tango instructor, has a tango-photography exhibition, titled Abrazando, until January 28 at Hong Kong's Culture Club Gallery.
Ho gives regular dance lessons, hosts weekly tango parties and engages in dance-photography art. Using a camera, she artistically captures the sensual energy and exchange of feelings between dancing couples and the intimacy beyond movement and flow. Without artificial setup, she uses over-exposure techniques to create her own photographic style. Each photo is a unique piece driven by a spontaneous dance moment.
The exhibition has 16 images to represent Ho's world of Argentine-tango art. It's also a call for audiences to feel the sensuality of tango.
