The New York Yankees baseball team has signed a China-based company, Uni-President Enterprises (China), to a four-year sponsorship agreement in the instant-noodles category. Uni-President is using sponsorship of the Yankees to support the QSL China Baseball League (CBL) which it sponsors.
The Yankees will make a donation to the QSL Youth Sports Development Foundation. Organized under Project Hope and founded by QSL Sports chairman Kenny Huang, this is China's largest children's-sports charitable organization.
In the agreement, Uni-President will receive field-level signage between first-base and the right-field foul pole. Uni-President's instant-noodles will appear in a full-page ad in the Yankees' game program.
Since launched in 1992, Uni-President has become one of China's biggest instant-noodles makers. It is a Chinese-mainland subsidiary of Uni-President Enterprises, a large processed-foods producer in Taiwan.
