| As you may have seen in the mainstream press, Thaksin Shinawatra, Thailand’s former prime minister, has just brought the players from Manchester City, his British soccer team, to Thailand to show off, like a chorus line of prostitutes, and presumably to increase his popularity.
Interestingly, on the very day when he opened a new store in Shinawatra Towers to sell Manchester City memorabilia, the police elsewhere in Thailand raided a retailer who sold fake soccer memorabilia. Now try to tell me that those events aren’t related.
