Again this year, scores of talented musicians compete for Prince Edward Island Music Awards, soon to be presented for the sixth time.
On October 20, Music PEI (formerly the PEI Music Awards Association) announced the nominees in most categories for its 2006 awards ceremony, slated for November 10 at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, Canada. Haywire, a PEI-born rock band at its zenith in the 1980s, will reunite to perform at the awards show.
Reflecting musical riches among the 135,000 people living in Canada’s smallest province, the nominees emerge from deep pools of established talent and exciting newcomers. Meet the contenders:
